Our Approach

At Thrive Health, we specialize in complex chronic conditions that rarely fit in one neat box. From women’s hormone health and connective tissue disorders to mast cell activation, gastrointestinal motility disorders, dysautonomia, and PANS/PANDAS, we help patients who are tired of hearing “everything looks normal” while feeling anything but.

Our root-cause, integrative approach was shaped both by advanced training in Functional Medicine and by firsthand experience navigating a fragmented, often frustrating healthcare system. Instead of focusing on one organ or one lab test at a time, we look at the full picture—biology, hormones, immune function, nervous system, lifestyle, and environment—to understand why your symptoms started and what keeps them going.

At Thrive Health, care is built around curiosity and persistence. If you’re still searching for answers, the work isn’t done yet. Together, we’ll connect the dots, create a plan that fits your real life, and help you feel heard, understood, and more in control of your health.

Meet Your Provider

Elizabeth (Liz) Mitchell, RN, MS, FNP-BC, IFMCP is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and founder of Thrive Health, an integrative practice dedicated to root-cause relief for complex, chronic conditions. She brings specialized expertise in women’s hormone health, connective tissue disorders, mast cell activation, gastrointestinal motility disorders, and PANS/PANDAS.

After her own autoimmune diagnosis revealed how often medically complex patients are overlooked or told “it’s all in your head,” Elizabeth pursued advanced training in Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine. That work cemented her commitment to finding and treating the underlying drivers of illness—rather than simply chasing symptoms.

Elizabeth approaches each case like a medical puzzle, combining detailed clinical assessment with functional medicine tools to uncover why symptoms began, what’s perpetuating them, and how to create sustainable, stepwise change. She is particularly passionate about helping patients who have felt dismissed or lost in the system finally feel validated and supported.

She is licensed in NH, ME, VT, MA, CT, RI, and FL.
